BT-Travel (Full name: Best Travel Store). Website: bt-store.com.
I booked a flight to China that was listed on their website. More than a day later I received email from them saying that due to system problems my ticket reservation was unsuccessful. By this time, all the cheaper tickets on Expedia, Priceline, etc. had all disappeared and I was forced to book another more expensive ($100+ more) and less convenient (two different airlines) flight.
Here’s the link to one of the sites containing reviews for this company: http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews105280.html
What a scam!
Oh and btw, coincidentally, the moment (at the same time by the minute, literally) I submitted my initial request, I started receiving junk-mails on an hourly basis with a consistent pattern that I’ve never seen before. I know they’re from the same sender since the content and format is similar. Via IP check I found that they predominantly original from China. Sender names are random characters of the following form: “fhknqswy”. Content are in Traditional Chinese (繁体).
Using an incognito browser environment in a inbound-secure network, I clicked on one of the links and it took me to an online store located in Taiwan. Content is in Chinese and the link has been abbreviated, ex.: m52.z-x.in (WARNING: do not enter site). Here’s an example:
